what is the difference between archon and commercial studios?
a commercial studio is an open space you rent to setup your equipment (or theirs/rentals) along with an inhouse engineer or someone you hire. At archon all instruments are already setup and miked with various audio preset chains. As such, archon can be ideal for some projects, while not so much for others (see below)
what is archon ideal for?
archon is ideal for artists, bands and producers who know what they want and seek to get the highest quality recording in the least amount of time. Hours of setup time and getting sounds are no longer a factor. Additionally, archon is the perfect “reamping” enviroment not only for guitar and bass, but also for piano since the 7-foot Yamaha Grand is a Disklavier. what is archon not ideal for?
bands that need an open floor space to setup all of their own equipment, engineers who are looking for a studio for their clients, large projects that require runners, a service crew, or long lockouts since archon has extremely limited availability
what if I want to use my own instruments to record at archon?
while archon’s collection consists of handpicked examples of some of the best vintage and modern drums and amps available, there is enough space for your own instruments or even a 10-piece string/brass/choir section. The main wooden room is 500 square feet with 21 foot ceilings along with a non-reverberant booth
